Rev. Dr. Richard Zeile, the developer of this ministry, holds degrees from Valparaiso University, the Rackham School at University of Michigan, Harvard Divinity School, Concordia Theological Seminary, Wayne State University, Specialist in Educational Administration from Wayne State University, and the Doctor of Ministry from Detroit’s Ecumenical Theological Seminary. He has served as Lutheran school teacher, principal, pastor, adjunct professor, and hospital chaplain. He has served in the Detroit area for most of his life, sharing four adult children with his wife of 47+ years.

He has served as Pastor at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Taylor, Michigan, 2001-2025, a congregation of the conservative Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. During this time he served 8 years on Michigan’s State Board of Education, winning statewide election to do so. Colleagues elected him Co-President of the Board 2017-18.

Dr. Zeile has written Sunday School curricula (middle school) and devotions for Concordia Publishing House (Portals of Prayer & My Devotions), as well as for Higher Things. His study of Detroit Lutheran School closings during the 1990’s was published by Lambert Academic as When Lutheran Schools Close. He is currently preparing a volume of 366 Old Testament prophecies fulfilled in Christ with Timothy Dussia.

Since 2009 he has been Speaker on Martin Luther’s Evening Prayer, radio & podcast which has expanded to twenty stations coast to coast. It is heard as a podcast on Buzzsprout.com/34718 or wherever your obtain your podcasts.
